Convert PDF to image

Turn PDF pages into PNG, JPG or WEBP images, up to 600 dpi and with a transparent background if you want. Or stack every page into one long image.

Runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

How to convert PDF to image

  1. Click the yellow area and pick the PDF, or drag the file onto the page.
  2. Choose the format (PNG, JPG or WEBP) and the resolution.
  3. Decide on the result: one image per page or all pages in one image.
  4. If you only want some pages, type them in the Pages field, for example 1-3, 5.
  5. Click Convert. With a single image the download starts on its own; with several, download them one by one or in a ZIP.

All pages in one image

This option stacks the pages one below the other in a long image, like a scrolling screenshot. It’s the handiest way to:

  • Send a short document on WhatsApp or Telegram so people can read it without opening a PDF.
  • Post a menu, rules or schedule that runs two or three pages.
  • Upload a multi-page receipt to a site that only takes one image.

Very long images are scaled down automatically to fit browser limits (about 16 megapixels). For long documents, one image per page is better.

PNG, JPG or WEBP?

  • PNG: best for pages of text, tables, charts and drawings. Nothing gets blurry. Supports a transparent background.
  • JPG: the smallest for photo-heavy pages and accepted everywhere. No transparency.
  • WEBP: sharp and light, great for websites. Also supports transparency, but some older apps can’t open it.

Transparent background

Many PDFs contain just a drawing (a logo, a signature, a stamp, an illustration) on a white sheet. Tick Transparent background and the sheet disappears, leaving only the content, ready to place over another image or on a slide. Works with PNG and WEBP.

Which resolution to choose

ResolutionA4 page in pixelsUse it for
Screen (72 dpi)595 × 842Phone viewing, messages
Good (150 dpi)1240 × 1754General use, sharp text
Print (300 dpi)2480 × 3508Printing, enlarging
Maximum (600 dpi)4960 × 7016Very fine detail, plans

Your files never leave your device

The PDF is opened and converted in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, which matters for contracts, statements and personal documents. No sign-up, no page limit and no watermark.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from PDF to JPG?

PDF to JPG is the simple version, with JPG and PNG. This tool adds WEBP, a transparent background, 600 dpi and the option to put everything in one image.

Why won’t my PDF open?

PDFs that ask for a password to open need the protection removed first. PDFs that only block editing or printing open normally.

At 600 dpi I got a “resolution reduced” note. Why?

Browsers have an image size limit, especially on phones. Large pages at 600 dpi go over it and are reduced as little as needed.

Can I do the opposite, image to PDF?

Yes, with image to PDF, which combines PNG, JPG, WEBP and HEIC into a PDF.
